The Hundred Year Hunger: A Timeline of Food Insecurity and Malnutrition in Gaza - E. Mark Windle

£12.99

A perfect storm doesn't quite describe the Palestinian plight—rather, a cumulative assault through political upheaval, war and population containment. Alongside Israel's military offensive in Gaza, the weaponisation of food and water has been an overwhelming cause of civilian suffering and mortality.

History has shown that this is not a new phenomenon. In "The Hundred Year Hunger", E. Mark Windle explores a timeline of chronic food deprivation and malnutrition among the most vulnerable in Gazan society. Drawing from Palestinian, Israeli and international sources, he also investigates the efforts and challenges faced by humanitarian aid organisations over the decades and in the current conflict.

For Gaza's reconstruction to begin, a lasting ceasefire is essential. In addition it requires a surge in healthcare interventions and crucially, a coordinated plan for the long-term nutritional welfare of civilians. Without that, starvation may well be the end game (paperback, 169 pages).

***For every book sold during 2025, £2 will be donated to the non profit, non governmental organisation World Central Kitchen, who operate in Gaza and other areas around the world requiring emergency aid.***
